There's not many vacant properties, not many units being built, and what public subsidies were available to lower rents and assist first-time home buyers dried up long ago. Trump promises to eliminate the federal housing programs, and his tax cut package reduced the incentives for private investments.
State Bond monies are being acquired by counties whose voters have pledged their own local matching funds, and city/county competitions and disputes have made it harder for successful applications to be developed.
